Community Theatre in Jefferson, Texas – Drama and Comedy

March 3, 4 & March 10 and 11, 2012 and during Jefferson’s first Theatre Festival, August 4 and 11, 2012
SPECIAL ENGAGEMENT at Music City Texas, Linden Texas, March 16 & 17
March 3, 2012: The kick-off to our 2012 season, The Red Velvet Cake War, opened to a packed house (we had to add 10 extra chairs!).
Our inaugural theatre season, 2011, was an inspiring success!
Our goal of producing regional-quality theatre, here in our tiny
town of Jefferson, is within our grasp.
We have to thank the entire community for their support. People
attended our performances. Many auditioned and performed. An
amazing number made significant financial and equipment donations
that were essential to our successful launch.
Our special thanks is extended to the Jefferson First United
Methodist Church (JFUMC) for their generous support. They provide
our performance space and help publicize our productions. It is
because of this support that we can approach theatre as a ministry.
Our productions are not religious in nature (except for the upcoming
production of John, His Story), but they each carry a message and
help build connections between people. We perform because we want
to touch the hearts and emotions of other people.

Our connection to JFUMC keeps us focused on imparting a message
as well as providing top-notch entertainment.
One essential part of a community theater is the performers we
attract. We want actors who commit the required time and effort
to the performance and who thrive on the art of acting. Experience
and skill are secondary. Desire and commitment are all one needs in
order to achieve excellence on stage. Nothing is more rewarding than
to work with a beginner who wants to perform. Many of our
outstanding performers have been first-timers! Adults, youth, and
children can learn to act. Even those who fear the spotlight can
find joy in giving their best on stage.
If you have the desire to participate in theatre, performing, as a supporter,
a backstage worker, or simply as audience, please contact us.
There is a place for you in the theatre!
